Promoting Beyond Organic – A Team Effort

Jordan Rubin and the team are diligently working on several resources to help educate people about Beyond Organic. This includes everything from a Beyond Organic TV series, to Jordan’s newest book, Living Beyond Organic. These are excellent resources to learn about this healthier way of eating - Beyond Organic.

Beyond Organic TV Show
Jordan has already filmed 9 months of episodes on the Beyond Organic farm. Episodes will feature products, cooking segments, and more. The show will air on TBN (and possibly other networks) this Fall, with an expected audience of 500,000 viewers. Insiders will be able to preview the first two episodes this August (2011).

Beyond Organic Magazine
Beginning this Fall, Beyond Organic will publish a full color, 68 page bi-monthly Living Beyond Organic magazine. We will be able to order copies in bulk at the low price of .50 cents per copy. This is a great way to promote Beyond Organic to people. The content will feature successful Mission Marketers, natural health and product education, and promotional support for products.

New Book – Living Beyond Organic
Jordan’s latest book is called Living Beyond Organic. It will have a retail price of $20. We will be able to order a case of 20 for $25. That’s $1.25 per copy! This is a great read for us, and a great way to promote Beyond Organic to others.

This is only the beginning, so be on the look out for more resources. One of those resources that we are very excited about is the Beyond Organic promotional video. We got a sneak peek at the Founders Conference, and it is powerful! The video will be available on the Beyond Organic Back Office website, and in DVD format this Fall(2011)

Amasai™ Cultured Dairy Beverages are Amazing!

For those who are unfamiliar with Amasai™, it is very similar to a drinkable yogurt or kefir. However, there are several things that separate this dairy super-food from similar products sitting on your grocery shelf.

One of the key differences between Amasai™ and other cultured dairy beverages is that it is produced from A2 cow’s milk. To really appreciate the importance of this we urge you to read the article, “The Devil in the Milk” by Dr. Thomas Cowan. This eye-opening article exposes a little known genetic mutation in many of our domestic cows that according to Dr. Cowan has ”undesirable effects on animals and humans“.

Another key difference is that Amasai™ is loaded with beneficial bacteria known as probiotics. So not only is Amasai™ made from cows’ milk that is easier to digest, it also has powerful probiotics to support digestive and immune health. This is especially good news for those who suffer with digestive issues. Last, but certainly not least, Amasai™ is made from 100% GreenFed™ cow’s milk. This means it is naturally loaded with CLA, healthy fats, and vital nutrients.

“But how does it taste?” you ask. Amasai™ cultured dairy beverages taste amazing! They have a rich, creamy consistency that both adults and kids will love. This will definitely be on our AutoShip plan come October.

Finishing GreenFed Beef

You may have heard Jordan Rubin talk about green fed beef and dairy products having more omega 3′s. He also talked about how much better it is “finishing the cattle on grass” verses finishing them on grain. But what data is there to support these claims?

An abstract published in the British Journal of Nutrition talks about this. It is titled: “Red meat from animals offered a grass diet increases plasma and platelet n-3PUFA in healthy consumers”. In a double blind study, the researchers fed healthy people beef and lamb that were given a finishing diet of either grass or concentrate feed. Concentrate feed is usually a diet of mostly
wheat products.

Among other things, the blood levels of omega 3′s from both groups were compared. Blood Omega 3′s “were significantly higher in those subjects who consumed red meat from grass-fed animals compared with those who consumed red meat from concentrate-fed animals”

These findings are significant because most people have to many omega 6 fatty acids and not enough omega 3′s. Eating grass finished beef from Beyond Organic can help bring the omega 3 to omega 6 ratio closer to normal.

It is important to note that many “grass fed” cattle are finished on grain. But at Beyond Organic, the cattle are 100% “Green Fed”.

Introducing Amasai: Beyond Organic’s Praiseworthy Accomplishment

In previous posts we’ve talked about the importance of the GreenFed diet and how cattle raised on this diet pass down CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) to the consumer, increased amounts of vitamins, minerals, etc. We’ve talked about Beyond Organic’s A2 milk herd and how A2 beta casein is the historically traditional ‘healing’ milk of our ancestors. We’ve also talked about the extreme role probiotics play in a healthy digestive system and how that can improve immune function drastically. Beyond Organic has combined all three of these powerful elements into one delicious product, called Amasai.

The following is information gathered from Beyond Organic in regard to Amasai:

Amasai is:
• USDA Organic
• GreenFed – No Grains
• Cultured with over 30 probiotics, Inspired by traditional recipe of Africa’s Masai tribe
• Unique profile of true whole milk nutrients created through select heritage dairy breeding, green grazing and feeding program and olde world culturing and production methods for a delicious, highly digestible cultured dairy beverage.

Five Fold Difference:
1. GreenFed – Their dairy cattle intensely graze on grasses and greens such as forbs, herbs and legumes – no grain and have a peaceful, happy existence while free-roaming our thousands of organic pasture in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains.
2. Heritage Breeding – bringing back an ancient genetic profile originating in India, Africa and the Middle East for heritage dairy cattle that thrive on greens, and yield wide nutrient diversity and high nutrient density.
3. True Whole Milk – no skimming of fat, resulting in a complete, more natural balance of seasonal variation of fats and proteins, with higher levels of fat-soluble vitamins.
4. Low-Temperature Processed – long term, low temp pasteurization – leaving delicate proteins in their whole, un-denatured state.
5. Olde World Culturing – over 30 live probiotic cultures that are historically validated coupled with longer term culturing to create a wide array of beneficial compounds including organic acids and enzymes and a more complete pre-digestion of nutrients.

Amasai will be launching with 3 flavors including Plain, Milk & Honey (this is the one I tried…delicious!) and Berry. They come 6 pints per case with a shelf life of 6 to 8 weeks minimum. Their taste is similar to the drinkable yogurts or yogurt smoothies available at the grocery store. Absolutely delicious!

Gatorade or something better?

Beyond Organic has introduced a new product to the Mission Marketer’s called SueroViv.

There isn’t any product info on the main website yet, but I’m sure it will be up there soon. So, I thought I’d share a little bit of info about this product with my followers.

What is SueroViv? Well SueroViv is actually a Living Beverage. Crazy but true. Don’t get grossed out just yet… keep on reading. SueroViv is made from the GreenFed whey that flows naturally from the Raw Cheese making process. It is truly a historically celebrated beverage. ”Whey is the tart, golden liquid known to the Greek doctors of antiquity as “healing water.” In fact, Hippocrates and Galen, two founding fathers of medicine, frequently recommended whey to their patients.”

So what does SueroViv and Gatorade have in common? SueroViv is actually a sports drink. It is rich in probiotics, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, sodium and magnesium along with zinc, selenium and 7 B vitamins.

SueroViv actually has 10x the potassium of your average sports drink, a similar taste but 50% less the sugar. The citrus, berry and ginger flavors are sweetened with honey and organic fruit juice. For individuals interested in increasing their calcium, one bottle (16.9 oz) contains 250mg, and it is packed full of electrolytes and naturally occurring sodium.

SueroViv is a living tonic elixir comparable to Kombucha or coconut water. This product will be ready to be shipped in October and will be part of the Founder’s Packs! What are Founder's Packs you ask. Stay tuned!

Really Raw Cheese

In terms of nutrition and taste, the difference between Beyond Organic’s Green-Fed Raw Cheese and the cheese from grain cows you find in most stores and restaurants is as different as two different forms of the same food gets.

Cows are naturally grass feeding animals, however, 85-95% are raised in confinement on a diet of grain, particularly corn that is often covered in toxic mold, because it is far more cost effective for the farmer. Because this grain-based diet is highly abnormal and disruptive, it changes the ph in cows. This then sets up an environment and terrain in the cow for many abnormal physiological conditions in the cow which can increase the need for the use antibiotics. Further, to promote faster growth and more excessive milk production, many of these dairy cows are fed a variety growth hormones. All of this makes for the severely unhealthy dairy products that you’ll find on virtually all grocery store shelves.

Cheese from grain-fed cows is very high in Omega-6 fatty acid that most people get far too much of. Too much Omega-6 can lead to a variety of diseases and a larger waistline. Meanwhile, it is quite low in the good Omega-3 fatty acid that most people are dangerously deficient in. It is also very low in “conjugated linoleic acid,” or CLA, that is essential for our health.

Green-Fed Raw cheese, on the other hand is one of the few foods that has a perfect ballance of Omega-3′s to Omega-6 fatty acids, exceptionally high in CLA, and is considerably higher in the vitamins beta-carotene, A, D and E. Beyond Organic’s Raw cheese is also 100% devoid of all antibiotics, toxins, and hormones that you will find in the cheeses at your regular grocer.

Who is Jordan Rubin?

Beyond Organic's creator, Jordan Rubin has his own personal trying health story to tell. Here’s a short summerization taken off of the Beyond Organic Insider page:

“Jordan Rubin is regarded by many as one of the most respected and beloved natural health experts in America. His battle and triumph over Crohn’s disease has resonated with millions around the world and is one of the most dramatic natural health stories ever told. A successful entrepreneur, New York Times best selling author, international speaker and television personality, Jordan’s message of health and wellness is a beacon to the masses looking for answers that will help them take control of their health.”

Besides overcoming a devastating disease, this is a list of some of his accomplishments:

■In 1998, he founded Garden of Life, now a leading whole food nutrition company
■He is the author of several books, including “Patient Heal Thyself”, “Restore Your Digestive Health”, and “The Maker’s Diet”, which spent a total of 47 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller List.
■After publication of his book, “Perfect Weight America”, Jordan traveled to over 200 cities speaking on the dangers of obesity and how to combat it.
■Jordan has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, NBC, Nightly News, FOX News and Inside Edition.
■In 2006, Jordan touched millions of viewers worldwide through his TV series, Extraordinary Health with Jordan Rubin that aired on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and on Sky Angel satellite TV until 2009. He has been a health couch and advisor to several celebrities and athletes in the NFL adn MLB, and he is also a renowned worldwide motivational speaker.
■In 2009, shortly after Garden of Life was acquired by Atrium Innovations, Jordan launched a state of the art grassland operation and organic dairy farm on nearly 8,000 acres in southern Missouri. Utilizing a mixed agricultural platform, the new company will concentrate on 100 percent GreenFed dairy, beef and other specialty foods. The ranches are farmed in accordance with Rubin’s biblical based principles and the production practices will be detailed in a future book, Farming for Our Future. The primary initial product will be a new, fermented dairy beverage derived from traditional breeds of cattle that have been successfully bred to produce a highly digestible product that has not been available for more than 2,000 years.
■In addition to diary cows, Jordan’s ranches will eventually have several thousand dairy sheep and diary goats, allowing the ability to blend milk from all three species for truly distinctive dairy products. A herd of beef cows – mostly Red Angus bulls native to the region will be kept and finished on grass.
■When Jordan’s Beyond Organic ranches are fully operational, they will provide several hundred jobs for people in an economically depressed region of the Ozarks. Jordan’s mission is to use every square inch of the ranches to help provide high quality, nutrient dense, beyond organic foods to the surrounding communities as well as the entire nation.

Beyond Organic’s A2 Milk Herd

Beyond Organic will have the United State’s largest A2 beta-casein cattle herd. Why is this so important? It is believed by many in the scientific community that the majority of our milk might be contribuiting to some of the diseases so prevalent today, specifically cardiovascular disease.

Milk protiens come in two types, whey and casein. Casein comprises about 80% of the total protien in milk, and of that protien there are A1 and A2 beta-casein. Cows pass down either A1, A2 or both to their offspring just like we pass down eye color to our children. A thousand years ago the majority of cattle were A2 then the genetically mutated A1 strain appeared. The original A2 milk is generally produced in Africa, Asia and France, and also in goats milk. Upwards of 90% of cattle in the US are A1 cattle, but Beyond Organic’s dairy herd will be 100% A2 beta-casein cattle. Beyond Organic’s Amasai, Raw cheeses and all other products made with diary will come from A2 cattle.

If you are interested more in this science, there’s a great book called “The Devil in the Milk” by Dr. Thomas Cowan.
